QR codes provide a seamless way to facilitate survey participation, ensuring quick and easy access for all respondents, particularly those without email access. They enable organizations to distribute surveys efficiently while maintaining anonymity when required.

QR Code Functionality When Kiosk Mode is Disabled

QR Code Without Mapped Properties

  • Anyone can scan the QR code and take the survey.
  • Responses remain fully anonymous, no tracking of individual respondents.
  • Reports: Responses are grouped together without categorization.
  • Tags: Tags can be used for better organization, but all responses remain in a single dataset.

QR Code With Mapped Properties

  • The QR code is linked to predefined properties like department, location, or role during setup.
  • Each QR code is assigned to a specific group (e.g., one for "sales" and another for "marketing").
  • Reports: Responses are automatically categorized based on assigned properties, simplifying analysis by group.
  • Tags: Tags can be used across multiple QR codes to group responses under common themes.

QR Code Functionality When Kiosk Mode is Enabled

Kiosk Mode is ideal for shared environments where multiple individuals take the survey on a common device. It ensures structured data collection while maintaining survey integrity.

Key Features of Kiosk Surveys:

✔ Employees authenticate using their employee ID before taking the survey, ensuring accurate data mapping.

✔ Responses can be anonymous or non-anonymous, but the anonymity setting cannot be changed after launch.

✔ Kiosk mode configuration remains fixed once the survey is launched.

✔ Ideal for shared workspaces such as factories, warehouses, or kiosks.

Reports: Available only if the anonymity threshold is met.

✔ QR code functionality depends on anonymity settings:

  • For non-anonymous surveys, usually multiple QR codes can track individual responses, but with kiosk mode enabled, just a single QR code can suffice for all participants.

✔ Respondents who do not belong to any defined group will be categorized under "Uncategorized."

Enabling Kiosk Mode:

  1. Toggle the Kiosk Mode setting to "On."
  2. In the Preview Message Survey section, enter the message that employees will see before accessing the survey.

Once enabled, employees will see the following screen. They will be prompted to enter their Employee ID in order to begin the survey.

Kiosk survey configurations, distribution, and reporting

Once a survey is launched, you cannot change its anonymity settings, so selecting the right configuration is crucial.

Things That Cannot Be Changed After Launch

  • Once the survey is launched, the Kiosk Mode status (on/off) cannot be changed.
  • However, the Kiosk preview message can be modified at any time.

Participation Rate Calculation

Participation Rate =
Total number of submissions ÷ (Total number of invites sent + Total number of survey visits via QR code)

  • This formula should be used wherever participation rate is calculated for engagement and pulse surveys.
  • For QR code submissions, employee properties should be tracked during response submission.
