Internal benchmarking allows you to compare current survey data with data from a previous survey.
Setting up Internal Benchmarks
- Navigate to the Configure Page
- Click on “Add Benchmarks” and select “Internal Survey Comparison.”
- Choose the relevant completed survey you want to compare your current survey with.
Note: Only completed surveys can be used for internal comparisons.
Examples:
- An engagement survey can only be compared with a previously completed engagement survey.
- A Pulse survey can only be compared with a previously completed Pulse survey. You can also select which rounds from the previous survey to include while aggregating the benchmark score. For example, if you want to compare your Q3 Pulse survey with the last two rounds of the Q2 Pulse survey, select the Q2 Pulse Survey and choose the last two rounds. The benchmark will then use the aggregated score from those rounds.
- You’ll have the option to give your newly created benchmark a custom name.
Configuring Benchmark visibility
- Decide who can view the benchmarks by configuring visibility settings for Managers and Survey Admins.
Viewing Benchmarks on survey reports
- Go to the Reports page once your surveys are completed.
- Click on Compare with and choose from the available internal benchmarks configured for your survey.
- This dropdown will display the following:
- All benchmarks - are set for specific target categories or surveys.
- The overall score - compares the current survey results with your organization’s overall score.
Summary and Questions Pages
- A Comparison Score will be displayed on the right side, providing a clear performance comparison.
- Comparison Score = Benchmark Score - Metric Score
- Metric Score refers to the engagement, pulse, or eNPS score for that specific group, question, or reporting factor.
- Benchmark Score refers to either the external benchmark score or the internal benchmark score specific to each group.
- Comparison Score = Benchmark Score - Metric Score
- When hovering over the comparison delta value, a hover box will display the actual benchmark value for the external benchmark.
Engage with Score Comparison Graphs
- In the Engagement/ Pulse/ eNPS Score Comparison graph, you can compare the current survey with three previous surveys.
Note: For internal benchmarks, scores are dynamically calculated for each segment. For example, the Marketing department's scores from the current survey should be compared to their scores from the previous survey.
